Symantec Norton systemworks 2003
April 26, 2010 at 18:28:23
Specs: Windows 7, Intel Celeron 542MHz/512 MB DDR RAM
OK.
When you install Norton System Works 2003, it installs NAV2003 and that comes with Browser Download Protection. NSW2003 doesn't like windows 7. I uninstalled it and now the damn browser protection won't come off. I can't download a single file. It goes to %99 and finishes. I tried to save the file and that doesn't work. How do I disable browser protection so I can get the removal tool?

What about services labeled "Symantec"? Also, you may have to run regedit, then Edit - Find, and remove anything that includes the string "Norton." If you're not familiar with regedit, be careful ... anything you delete using regedit is gone for good!

Re #3
So if you do the registry search try "Symantec" too.

Figured it out. Thanks to Total Commander, I got the Norton removal tool from their FTP. I had to uninstall Symantec Ghost Solution Suite 2.5, but it was worth getting that crap off of it. Thanks for the help, though
