I have the UKash virus

Specs: Windows XP
i have the ukash virius but everytime i tap f8 and reboot in safe mode I get the blue screen saying thatt windows has shut down to prevent damage to my computer - how do i get past the blue screen

I boot to safe mode with networking, disable the anti-virus,

1 run combo fix, that will get rid of most of Ukash
2 run malwarebytes, gets rid of anything left.

sorry...on re read I see F8 is your problem. That will be a problem. You may have to remove the hard drive and attach it to another system and attack it that way.

The newer versions of Ukash are more of a problem to remove, as you are finding out. The only way I have succeeded is by using Kaspersky's rescue disk which you can download from HERE. Note that you have to look carefully through the nasties that it finds because it's not uncommon to find that very important system files can be marked for disinfection, and removing these sometimes makes the system un-bootable.
