Start with a good security suite. At least get Microsoft's security essentials or a commercial product and run it.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

Microsoft SE is about as useless as a turd in a punchbowl..... Try downloading a USEFUL Anti-Virus/Malware program like Avast! Free or Malware Bytes...
