I have an icon on my desktop i cannot remove

March 29, 2011 at 12:24:06
Specs: Windows XP
There is and icon on my desktop labelled "The Master's Plan...
When I try to remove it I receive a message that it cannot read from the source file or disc.
When I check the properties it says:
Located on desktop
size - 0 bytes
size on disk - 0 bytes

I have searched for the file and find nothing.
Could this be a virus?
I do not know where it came from.

I would try a reboot. Sometimes that is all that is needed

I have re-booted both in safe mode and regular mode.
I even had a tech from Norton try to remove it after he fixed a re-install of Norton Internet Security 2011. He could not remove it and said it is only an image, don't worry about it. I'm not worried about it but it bothers me just sitting there.

Click Start button; click Run and type "msconfig" and click "OK" . In the "Startup Tab" see if the program is mentioned. If so uncheck it and click " Apply Button"and "OK" to exit and restart your computer.
