Solved I have a Department of Justice ransomware problem...

Specs: Windows 7
My computer just locked up with a screen that is asking for $300 by the Department of Justice. After rebooting my computer in safemode with networking I found out it is just a scam/malware and needs to be cleaned up. So I get advice to download malwarebytes to get rid of it..but nothing is downloading on my computer. I tried to download malwarebytes and it came back "mbam.exe contained a virus and was deleted".Everything I try to download comes back as "_____" contained a virus and was deleted. How do I get the correct programs to download so I can get rid of the Department of Justice virus? Thank you.

Best way to fix it is to perform a factory recovery which will wipe the hard drive and set up a fresh Windows installation as it was when you bought it.

unfortunately response #1 does not realize how much is on a personal computer, progs, pics, docs, etc (which may take ages to reload ...IF....the progs are available.)...there are ways to remove that ransomware.
A great way to start is to download all 3 of these progs to a thumb drive on a different PC and then load them to the problem PC in safe mode.

Follow these in the EXACT order listed even if you have run malwarebytes already:
1- rkill.exe
2- tdss killer
3- malwarebytes

Some HELP in posting on plus free progs and instructions 7 Golds
