The WPA key is on the router that you connect to, not the laptop, though the laptop has a record of it, you'll see that it is only shown as asterisks.

You need to access the router's setup page, which is usually done by opening a browser and typing in it's ip address which will begin with 192.168... What the remainder of the ip address is depends on the router, though if you haven't got the manual for it you can find the ip by typing 'ipconfig /all' at a command prompt. Your best bet is to find the manual for your router which will tell you how to get to the WPA key.

I'm not connecting through a router unless this cricket EC1075 is one then I don't know the WPA key for it either

Not too sure what a cricket EC1075 is, but if it's a mobile phone of some sort that you are using to access the internet on your laptop then you have it what is called 'tethered'. In that case you can use the laptop in internet sharing mode, but you would have to connect the PS3 with a cable, it won't work wirelessly (not even too sure if it would work with a cable to be honest), & you'd end up paying a fortune in data charges unless you're in an unlimited data plan.

I still suspect you are using a router somewhere though as that would be the only thing that should be asking for a WPA key,

When you connect using your laptop, open the wireless connection icon in the system tray & see what network is says you are connected to - that will be the one you want your PS3 to connect to.
