What OS are you using? and which version of Realplayer you want to install?

Can you recheck that error message and make sure it is "exactly" as stated.

It seems odd for it to talk about the "quantity" of an operating system.

Thanks for your concern and I am using Windows Vista Home pack (Windows Vista, 2.00 GHz/2GB).
Real Networks Installer 3.0.1.120
I was trying many times to install above mentioned versioned Realplayer. Today, while I was trying to collect the "error" message but unfortunately I found no any error message and even download process also disappeared. I am trying to find the error message again.

Hi Derek,
Thanks for your concern! That error report I found while I was trying it as a User. But today when I was trying as Administrator, the error report was,

Installation failed. Cannot creat folder
%COMMON_APPDATA%\Real\RealConverter\DeviceProfiles.

I hope, you will find some exact solution for me. Anyway, thanks alot.

%COMMON_APPDATA% appears to be a complex area so it could prove tricky.

When you get the RealPlayer from the internet download, do you Run it from IE? If so download the actual file "into a folder" instead. Then go to the saved file and double click it to see if that makes any difference to the install.

We also get the error "Installation failed. Cannot creat folder
%COMMON_APPDATA%\Real\RealConverter\DeviceProfiles."

We have an HP laptop that has Windows 7 with a 64 bit OS and have downloaded realplayer version 14.0.2.633 which is 24.6MB but when you go to install it after having downloaded it ...it gets as far as this error and then quits. Have tried running it and also as an administrator and neither way works.

Any thoughts on how to fix the problem? I downloaded it to my downloads and then opened it as it wasn't working just running it.
Lynn

We've not heard from "Dal Bahadur Lama" since 3 Jan, so we don't know if a fix was found. There doesn't seem to be much info on it. You could try this:

Re: Solution 2 in the link. Don't be tempted to go around deleting any other files (apart from the temporary files and your own). If you have plenty of HD then that is not the problem. If you are short of HD then do a proper uninstall of whatever programs you don't want.

You could also download MalwareBytes freebie which is good at finding and fixing problems that AV's can miss. It's not that I suspect a virus, but it happened to be the reason for this issue on one of the cases I read about.

Your situation is rather different and few helpers will come back to this old post any more. It would be far better to raise a new post of your own.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
