My computer has started to act strange - running very slow at times. I looked at my Task Manager Window to see what jobs are running. I see that some jobs in the listing are followed by an "*32". As in, iexplore.exe *32. What are these and do they affect how my computer funcitons. I am suspecting that a game I played on Facebook has loaded some spyware onto my computer. Is Flashplayer causing this? Is it just normal?
I assume you are running a 64 bit OS. If that is the case *32 following the process name in Task Manager simply means that this is a 32 bit process. This is completely normal and does not indicate a problem. There are both 32 and 64 bit versions of iexplore.exe. This is necessary for compatibility with the many 32 bit explorer add-ons.
