how to turn off toshiba virus protection

Specs: Windows XP
I purchased the norton Virus protection software and installed it into my Toshiba lap top but the computer is still telling me i need to order the Toshiba virus protection and it will not let me do anything online. It says there is a virus but i have run the Norton and fixed all issues it found and still the lap top will not do anything except tell me I need to order protection. If I de-activate the protection prgram that came with the lap top will that allow the computer to work again? And if so how do I de-active the protection program it came with?

"still telling me i need to order the Toshiba virus protection " is it using those exact words? I suspect it is telling you you need to purchase somthing, but I suspect it has nothing to do with toshiba or any legit program, and if I am correct, you can't just turn it off.

Yes you are correct, "Thinkpoint" keeps popping up telling me I need to order more protection. I think I found the answer on another forum thanks for responding! :)
