how to remove nimda from a cd

May 11, 2010 at 08:12:55
Specs: Windows XP
I have very cool baby pics on a cd from 2001 and 2002 that icannot copy from cd to hard drive....Access to cd takes a long time but I can view many of the pics, just cannot get them off.....While accessing CD, my Computer Associates virus protection says some (7) files are infected with win32.nimda.....Please, any suggestions...I am currenty running Symantec's nimda removal tool and it is still scanning....The babies are now rotten teenagers and I'd like to be reminded from time to time of their youth.

did you try getting the pics to load on a different PC and then scanning them?
You CANNOT remove an infection from a CD, it is impossible.

Yes I've tried all desktops in my house.....I can view just not
copy off.....the only way I can think to save some of these pics is to "screen capture" and save to my hard drive.

Thank you very much for the response....Do you know of a way to mirror or replicate a cd without standard copy? Or am i just retarded.

Thanks again

Have you tried Picasa?
Install it and then have it import the pics from the CD.
That may work for you
