Hi all,

I have a situation that for me is not easy to solve it. Maybe somebody can help me on this. First of all let me put the story in. I have a user that has local administrator access to a company laptop. Which means he can do everything to the laptop. When he resign, he deleted all important data inside the laptop. so the question is.. is there any way/third party software that can prevent the data from being delete like this?

Any attempt to restrict an administrator is doomed to fail. Any software you can install an Admin can bypass or uninstall. Any setting you make can be undone by another Admin. This is in the nature of an Administrator account.

You can't prevent an Admin from deleting files. All you can do is ensure that all these files are properly backed up.

There is no software that can protect files from deletion by a user logged in as an administrator. There is no obstacle you can put in his path that he cannot avoid. That is in the nature of an admin account.

Protecting files from deletion by non-admin users is easy. All you need to do is set appropriate file permissions. This will not work with admin users.
