Specs: Windows 7
I am told that frequently when I email from AOL, my entire address book gets some rude note supposedly from me. I know it/s happened when I get a massive number of returned emali demons. I use the AOL spam control and have Windows Security, but it still happens. How can I get rid of it?

The emails are probably not actually coming from your account. Your address has probably been spoofed. Nothing you can do about that.

"The emails are probably not actually coming from your account. Your address has probably been spoofed. Nothing you can do about that."

Crap, the same exact thing is happening to me and I had a feeling they were not actually coming from my account because none of the e-mails show up in the "Sent" folder. I also ruled out a virus because numerous virus scans come up negative and, judging from the time stamp on the returned mail error messages, many of the e-mails were sent when my computer wasn't even on. How did whoever is responsible for this gain access to our address books?

have you used your email account from a wireless device, or at Nother location like a hotel? I had a similar experience with a yahoo Email account shortly after I'd been accessing email from an ipad in. hotel in China.
