geraldf,

Please download HijackThis Version 2.0.4.
It will provide us information needed to remove SearchQu:
http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/

Save to the Desktop.
Double-click the HijackThis.exe to run the program

When HijackThis opens, press the Scan button
When done scanning, a log appears on your Desktop
.
>>Save to the Desktop, and post the HijackThis log in your reply.<<

In HijackThis once again, click on Config > Misc Tools > Open Uninstall Manager

>>Save the Uninstall Manager list to the Desktop, and also post in your reply.<<

Am I able to have 2 anti viruses going at the same time? I have AVG and it runs each day and is update each day and does not find this searchq/406 ever. I will try what you suggest if it does not affect AVG. I have been told it is not good to have more than 1 anti-virus. Is this right?

HijackThis is not an AntiVirus.

You are correct, though. Running two AV programs is bad news.
