No software can protect from 100% of all infections 100% of the time. You cannot have more than one antivirus program running at the same time. You can run Malwarebytes which is designed to run in conjunction with your antivirus program. The free version works great for spot checking or when you suspect an issue and can be run manually on your schedule like weekly. The pay for version which I generally do not recommend does run continuously without issue with your antivirus program and will be a preventative like your antivrus program. I recommend going into the settings and select what you want it to cover but I also recommend activating the 'scan for rootkits' option as an important one that is not active by default. If you install it and do not want the 'free trial' of the pay for version you can go into settings and select 'end free trial' and it will become the free version. If you want it, I believe it is for 30 days and then you can decide if you want to pay for it.
Edit: This is the 'layered approach'.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

"SystemBC malware is detected & deleted by any free, or paid for Anti-virus programmes?"
It is a brand new infection, paid Malwarebytes will probably be the best protection.
User vigilance is still the best, you will get conned if you are a click, click User.
