How do i test a website to see if it tracks me

I just wanted to reply to this question posted here about a hear ago: - but apparently that topic is too old to reply to.
The answer back then was "you cant, without visiting the website" - but, there are (free) services like that will do this for you.
There are also (free) plugins for your browser than can test the website for privacy/tracking/cookies, etc, but they require you visit the website first and by then it might be too late!

You could set your internet options to always prompt for cookies, and then you can decide if you want to be tracked.

Blocking cookies is probably fine for most people, but for the superparanoid, there are still all those web-beacons, javascript trackers and other scary things - plus it's a bit of a hassle to block cookies, then have to allow cookies for those few sites that you trust, etc..

For Google Chrome there are addons like:
Do Not Track Me Plus
Edit This Cookie
Facebook Blocker
Also use DuckDuckGo search engine it does the very minimal of tracking compared to Google, etc.
