how do i reformat my hard drive?

Specs: Windows 7, 2.7 GHz / 6142 MB
how do i reformat my hard drive with windows 7 home premium so that i can be completely sure virus is gone? i am not exactly a computer tech here so please include step be step instructions and be as clear and as simple as possible. i have windows 7 dvd that came with computer, which is a dell inspiron 545 desktop pc, 6 gb. ram. 600 gb hard drive, and is currently running windows 7 home premium. i hope i have included all neccesary information. thankyou to anyone who can help me with this, it would be very, very much appreciated.

1: Put your W7 Cd in the drive & reboot.

2: All going well you will see a message for about 4 seconds, saying > Press any key, do so.

3: You now want to do a new install ( not Repair ) so you need to delete all partitions & format to NTFS.

4: W7 will now install.

5: During the install, you will get reboots & see the message > Press any key > Don't.

helpful....i think...not quiet sure how to format to ntfs though. i'm assuming it will be clear as to how to do so. and as far as the final instructions to not press any key, i'm again assuming the install will do the rest automatically...

Yes, or read the links I gave you.

Correct, you press it only once at the beginning of the install.
