1-does it pop up in safe mode?
2-Do you have a CD in the drive?
3-Do you have a thumbdrive plugged in?
Something is activating it.

I would suggest you take it back to the 'so' called professional and tell them it is not working properly...you obviously paid for the repair.

Alright, at least I can type freely while in Safe-mode with networking. And no, the media player is not popping up with every key stroke. Am I just going to be cursed with having to run it in safe mode 24-7 to get my work done?

Run msconfig and look at your start up processes. In particular check under the start up tab and look down the command tab. Uncheck anything that looks "fishy" or that your not familiar with. Or google the .exe and see if its safe or not. Then reboot and see if you still have the same problems.
