Run both of these, in this order.

Step 1: Run AdwCleaner

Tutorial

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your Desktop. If your default download location is not the Desktop, drag it out of it's location onto the Desktop.
Close all open programs and internet browsers.
Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
Click on Clean.
Confirm each time with Ok.
Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
Please Copy & Paste the contents of that logfile with your next answer.
You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.

Step 2: Run Junkware Removal Tool

Download Junkware Removal Tool onto your Desktop. If your default download location is not the Desktop, drag it out of it's location onto the Desktop.
Warning! Once the scan is complete JRT will shut down your browser with NO warning.
Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
Temporarily disable your antivirus and any antispyware real time protection before performing a scan.
Click this link to see a list of security programs that should be disabled and how to disable them.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/for...
http://www.techsupportforum.com/for...
Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7/8, right-click JRT and select Run as Administrator.
The tool will open and start scanning your system.
Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved onto your Desktop and will automatically open.
Copy and Paste the contents of the JRT.txt log please.

EDIT: OOOPS...I saw you tried this already...you will probably want to run Malwarebytes (quick scan) and fix all it finds also:
http://filehippo.com/download_malwa...
The green tab on the top right of that page and uncheck the trial version...the free works fine

You may want to do a system restore back to BEFORE the problem

If you think malwarebytes may have messed up your chrome try running it again and choose the 'quarantine' tab. It'll show the files it's removed. If you can find the file you think chrome needs you can restore it.

You say you clicked on 'uninstall' to get rid of elf. If it's showing as software that can be removed you might try something like revo:

A lot of downloads give the 'can't be verified' message. If you downloaded from the site JohnW linked to it'll be fine.

Agree that the filehippo site is safe to use. As best I know all utilities suggested/recommended here are safe to use.

"Agree that the filehippo site is safe to use"
Don't think the OP is talking about Malawarebytes, Malwarebytes is already installed.

If you are talking about ADWCleaner that message is not rare - I get it with every new version. It is quite OK to go ahead. I happen to use this site (blue download on top right):
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow...

Save the file somewhere then double click it to start ADW. Do the Scan and see the options but it is usually safe to run the Clean afterwards.

Best copy/paste the log on here afterwards (as per response #1).

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Iobit is fine.

I would still be inclined to run ADWCleaner (which removes malware ridden toolbars) but that is up to you.

"what if it deletes part of my google chrome again?"
If Malwarebytes kills Chrome, it is for a very, very good reason.

You don't leave Malware on the comp.

I am assuming you have run both AdwCleaner & Junkware Removal Tool.
It is impossible to know what we are dealing with, without seeing the logs.

We can easily fix Chrome if need be.
