Specs: Windows XP
I need something that will get rid of my viruses. There is a red box popping up saying that my computer has lots of worms, trojans, viruses, and pretty much everything under the sun. It also is saying that the google is trying to steal my credit card identity. I tried to use this AVG program that was on my computer but it wont even allow me to do that. I left my computer alone all day and when I got home from work i went to log on and a blue screen popped up and told me to restart my computer. The blue screen hasn't came back again. Please help

if it's that bad it might not be worth it. If it were mine, I would back up all of my data and reload the os.

Turn your computer off. Hit the button to turn it on then keep hitting f8 on the key on the keyboard until you get a menu with options such as safe mode and safe mode with networking. Select safe mode with networking. Your computer should boot up and the resolution will look different, that is ok at this point. Get on the internet and go to Search for a program called Malwarebytes. Download and install it and allow it to update. Open malwarebytes and select perform full scan and then hit the blue scan button. Let it scan until it finishes; it may take a few hours. When it is finished you will see the option to "Show Results" at the bottom. Click that and it will show you everything it found. Make sure everything is selected with a checkmark next to it and then hit the button that says remove selected. Once it has finished you should restart your computer. See if you have any issues after following these instructions.

Run a full system scan with your new antivirus program. This sometimes takes upwards of thirty minutes; afterward follow the onscreen instructs to delete anything the scan finds.

Download the free program HijackThis if you're still stuck with the worm or Trojan. According to CNET, HijackThis generates a log of all the vulnerable sections of your computer. If you post the log on a computer help forum such as TechSupportForum, a moderator may be able to identify your particular virus and tell you how to get rid of it.
