How do I apply images stored in my laptop?

Specs: Windows 7
Can anyone tell me how to use images as txt. There are many images stored in my laptop that I believe contain information required to access various accounts and/or information necessary to open "hidden" files and/or "lite" menu access. How do I apply these images in order to open associated files?

Ok, right click on any GIF > Properties > Opens with > Change, select > Windows Picture & Fax Viewer.

Reclaim your files to open in your favorite editor

Or,
Right click on any picture you want to view, Properties > Change > Select your favorite viewer, make sure > Always use the selected program to open this kind of file, is ticked.
