Hotmail sending e-mail w/virus

Specs: Mac OS X 10.6.5
I'm sure I have something going on in my MSN hotmail. All my contacts are getting emails from me that I don't send. I have a MacPro, installed Norton for Macs and ran a scan which returned NO VIRUSES!!!! I'm feeling pretty frustrated. I don't know if Norton scanned the email during the full scan...or if I'm just doing something wrong. Any help would be great

If you haven't changed your password, change it now.

you need to try to send a test email to either yourself or a friend. you need to send the test email from a non-hotmail account (your personal ISP account will do) from the suspected host to an email addy which is either your own (non hotmail) to a trusted friend. if you send the email to yourself, you need to open the email on a different machine that you are certain is virus-free and which is running an up to date AV. same applies if the test email is going to your friend.
