Solved help with Anti-virus s/w

Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate, intel core2 2GHz/4GB
Hi,I'd like to install a downloadable, free, powerful and fast Antivirus (or anti-spy-rootkit ), that has the extended feature of excluding file-extensions (.exe) from virus-scanning procedure...running on Win7 32-bit...THNXX!!

If I understand you correctly as to what you are looking for...

AV programs target viruses and malicious threats typically contained in executable file types (.exe), and other file types also...

If you plan to exclude .exe files, in essence, you would be using a pro-virus program, versus an anti-virus.

That would be rather unusual...

Thank you...the problem is I have a library with inactive, of course, viruses, as a lab material, that I wouldn't like to be examined by the AV. All the other file extensions should be okay for analysis...

If you excluded all exe's the AV would be worthless.

Microsoft Security Essentials (free) can be set to exclude specific folders,
so these could contain your viruses.

I agree MalwareBytes is a good program, often finding and fixing what AV's miss.
However, the free version has no facility to exclude files or folders. It does have an ignore list but I don't think this is quite what the poster wants.

Thank u for your assistance...I just installed Ms Security Essentials, configured it and it has the feature to exclude files or file extensions...I updated it and is working nice for the time...Thanxx, again!!
