I was recently on bakabt.com using firefox, when my pc suddenly restarted and then wouldn't move past the start-up page. So i turned off the power and turned it back on after un-plugging my internet modem, this time it made it all the way to my desktop and i started a virus scan, i took my eyes off it for 5 seconds and my monitor goes into standby mode and my mouse wont respond.
I turned the power off again and restarted it and it freezes at the windows loading page and my mouse wont respond again.
Have i been hacked or is it a virus?
Is there anyway to salvage my hard-drive's data?Any help would be very much appreciated
dear sir, yes this is a virus, sometimes some unrecognized sites may
harm u.
now u have to go to ur advance setup and try directory restore
mode or safe mode if u success then try to restore ur system
or have a scan or boot time scan with a full updated antivirus.
i suggest u AVAST prof for future and for now.cause avast
have a option of boot time scan.
and dont worry if u have ur data on other drives<but not in C:,
Desktop, and My Documents>
I had something similar happen. My computer just shut down and when I tunred it back Windows loaded but A virus protector pop-up seems to control my computer. I can't get to any of my icons including Start Up. In fact, once Windows loads no keys I press work. My mouse works, that's it. I'm sure this is a virus, but since I can't get to any of the pages suggested here to begin a fix, does anyone have any advice?

Is it a laptop or desktop?
Have you tried tapping f8 and go into safe mode?
An easy way to salvage all info from a HD is to remove the drive and slave it to another PC, you can also do a virus scan that way. Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
