Google Re-direct Virus Again!!

May 26, 2011 at 11:09:33
Specs: Windows Vista
I had the google redirect virus before and you helped me get rid of it with tdskiller and the anti malwayre programme. This worked great and it was fine for ages but it looks like I have contracted the virus again! I have tried downloading tdskiller again which downloads ok but then when i try to run it nothing happens, it comes up with the usual windows warning about the publisher, i click on ok but nothing happens. Any Ideas?

Since these tools are updated frequently, please download TDSSKiller once again.

Save it to the Desktop. However, in the Save as prompt, go to the File name area and rename the tool a random name with a .com extension. For example:

Right-click the TDSSKiller renamed file, and select: Run As Administrator
Now, click the Start Scan button.

Do not use the computer during the scan

If the scan completes with nothing found, click Close to exit.

When the scan finishes it displays a Scan results screen stating whether or not an infection was found on your computer.

To remove the infection, click on the Continue button.
If it does not say Cure on the results screen, leave it at the default action of Skip, and press the Continue button.

Do not change to Delete or Quarantine as it may delete infected files that are required for Windows to operate properly.

Reboot to finish the cleaning process.

If no reboot is requested, click on Report.
A log file should appear.

A log file named TDSSKiller_version_date_time_log.txt (i.e. TDSSKiller. is created and saved to the root directory (usually Local Disk C:).

>>Please provide the contents of TDSSKiller in your reply.<<

Also download aswMBR:
Save to the Desktop.

If the file does not download, copy the following to the address bar of your browser. Do not include the brackets!

Double click the aswMBR.exe icon to run it
Click the Scan button to start the scan
On completion of the scan, click the save log button
Save it to the Desktop.

>>Also post the aswMBR log in your reply.<<

Try running aswMBR, per instructions above.

Also, download the Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool:

Save it to your Desktop
On Vista, right click the downloaded setup file, and select: Run as Administrator

At the main screen of the tool, in the AutoScan tab, make sure the first three options are checked.
Next, scroll down to check the box next to the C:/ drive

Click on Start Scan

When the scan is finished, click on: Report (at the bottom)

In the Detailed Report screen, make sure the three buttons at the top are set to:
Autoscan, Do not group, and, Important events
Click on Save, and save to the Desktop

Please provide the Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool in your reply, as well as aswMBR report..
