Solved FBI Moneypak virus got me

September 21, 2012 at 12:17:36
Specs: WindowsXP, 2.4 gig/1gig
I couldn't do diddly in Safe Mode w/Networking to kill this thing.
I killed all the files that came up using Malewarebytes.
Seems to be as many fixes as there are affected PC's.
Must be an installer still in there, buried deep.
I came here years ago with difficulty removing the SpyAxe virus,
and this site was very helpful.
I need your help again.

See if you can get Rogue Killer onto your pc using safe mode with networking http://majorgeeks.com/RogueKiller_d...
If not, you will have to use a clean pc and a usb flash. Do a full scan. When it's finished try running Malwarebytes again doing a full scan.

Have you tried a System Restore to a time before the infection?

✔ Best Answer
Sadly, I hadn't set a Restore Point in a very long time, I will today when I finish cleaning up this PC.
While I waited for a response, I was able to D.L. and run the Emsisoft Emergency Kit in Safe Mode and quarantined the Moneypak virus, and probably a few others that tagged along with it.

Normally The Emisoft deep scan will remove the virus as mentioned in #3. The issue is that after removal you will want to ensure that the program that caused the weekness is upgraded. You may wish to use this program to correct.

I suggest to use Use RKill www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/ from bleeping computer or Spyhunter http://www.anti-spyware-101.com/spy... installer to terminate this rogue processes..
Here a video guide how to remove it, anh how it's work : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_08Y...

Once the process is killed, you can download and scan with Malwarebytes ( http://www.malwarebytes.org )

Hope It's Help!
