fazher.com auto-opens new browser tab

June 1, 2010 at 13:07:56
Specs: Windows Vista
web surfing with Mozilla Firefox 3.6.2, with the AdBlocker Plus plug-in installed. Periodically while I am reading a web site/page, firefox auto opens a new tab with no request from me, browsing to an advertiser's site - any of several ad servers. Since the new window indicates it already has some site history, I click the [BACK] button to view the preceding site, and find it momentarily displays http://fazher.com, which then immediately redirects back to the adserver page it started on.

Windows Defender spyware/adware scans with current definitions find no infections. Any ideas how to prevent fazher dot com from infiltrating my browser. Thanks. jamesptrk5 @ rcn.com

Can you just check disabling and uninstalling all the addons installed in your browser. Then reset your browser. and then remove all the temporary internet files using the application "ccleaner".
I think it may help you.

Thank you :)

Solution suggested by pc365 seems to do the trick: Disabling and uninstalling all browser addons, clear all browser history and close browser, delete all temporary internet files, then clear them out more comprehensively using the application "ccleaner". I let it run for 3 or 4 days without recurrence before reinstalling my two addons. No problem since. Many thanks.

all of you that are hijacking the post should make a new post so that someone will help you. You'll get much better replies that way.
Try running adblockplus and noscript and see if you still have the same problem.

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
