entry in startup - suspect virus

January 28, 2010 at 08:45:37
Specs: Windows XP
There's an entry in my msconfig startup folder I don't recognize. I uncheck it and each time I reboot it's checked again. I suspect it's a vrisu but don't know how to get rid of it.
Startup Item - ogopakuk
Command - rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\ogopakuk.dll",Startup
In my Norton 360 Startup Manager this program goes by Mbaregemidarib
Help!

definitely a virus. you should just be able to boot to safe mode and go delete it. tried that?

Thanks. No, I didn't think of Safe Mode. Ended up calling Symantec and paying them to remove it and other viruses that were on my machine. Much appreciation for the advice!
