Do multiple firewalls cause problems

Specs: Windows 7
If my AV software includes firewall protection should I turn off the Windows firewall and use the AV firewall? And if both firewalls are active can that cause problems?

What AV are you using?

It is usual to turn off the Windows firewall if you have a third party software firewall installed.
As often as not the third party firewall will turn off the Windows one when you install it.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Yes, you will need to turn off Windows Firewall if the AV firewall installation does not do this for you.
As an alternative you may turn off or uninstall the AV firewall instead and leave the Windows Firewall active which I feel is preferable.
What AV are you using? I find that most AV software companies that think their firewall product is better than Windows is not only incorrect but usually usually the AV suite is a hog of system resources that slow down your system unnecessarily.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
