Specs: Windows 13.07.2009
Hiya,

I encountered a Defragmenter Virus on my Dell Inspiron 1525, I mistakenly clicked on a scam Adobe update. When i try to reboot the PC in safe mode or last know good config the login screen does not appear, it is a black screen. Is there any way of accessing the computer or even being able to sort this virus out and removing it in any way.

Try VGA mode if the screen is black.

It's in the same menu where you found safe mode.

When I start it up
I get

Repair Your Computer

Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with command prompt

Enable Boot Logging
Enable low-resolution video
Last known good Configuration
Directory Services Restore Mode
Debugging Mode
Disable automatic restart on system failure
Disable driver signature enforcement

Start Windows Normally

If i try the usual ones, the Microsoft sign comes up and loading bar, then after that it just comes to a black screen and unable to sign in.

How about that? It's not in the menu. It always used to be.

Here are two other things to try. Connect an external monitor &/or go into the BIOS & restore defaults.
