Specs: Windows XP
Can deactivating my Facebook account save it from hackers? I'm afraid that a friend would try to hack my account. Should I temporarily deactivate it? Will it stop the hacker from hacking my account?

You could start by simply changing your password to something more secure.

I know all those basics to protect your account But a skilled hacker can hack through even if you have a strong password. But deactivating the account might do the trick because you can't hack an account when it doesn't exist. Do think this would help?

When you put yourself on any social networking site or even if you have your own site, you can become a target.

A few years ago, my youngest brother, now 46, was constantly getting infected from myspace, so much so, that I eventually had to delete his profile, on his PC & create a new one. No matter how much I told him to stay away from those sites, he wouldn't. Eventually, someone named Smitty from Florida, hijacked his Yahoo account. The guy was dumb enough to create a folder with his own name on the account.

Anyway, the only way I would have a facebook account is if I were making money from it.

How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.
