Dancing anime girl on desktop generates jpgs.

Specs: Windows 7, i5 gen1 / 4gb ddr3
So I cleaned out my comp today (dust on hardware) hooked it all back up tonight and on windows desktop there was this dancing anime girl (kotanadancer.exe or something like that) it generates an infinite number of the same jpg file till the computer locks up.

I rebooted into ubuntu deleted the exe from startup folder and cleared the over 4000 jpgs from desktop then ubuntu locked up...
Decided I would use minixp to investigate more so I put the bootable disk in and went to bios to set dvd drive to first boot...bios locks up I've shut the computer off and am researching on my laptop for now but I can not recall the exact file name of the maleware.

Anyone have any experience with virus of this sort?

Why didn't you delete the exe when you were deleting the jpegs?

How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.

"I rebooted into ubuntu deleted the exe from startup folder and cleared the over 4000 jpgs from desktop then ubuntu locked up..."

Thank you IlliXXion

I got an nvidia driver error on ubuntu so I pulled everything apart reseated the whole system and re wired the fans to a separate power cable. I also reset CMOS and was able to get into Safe Mode, ran defrag (only 5% fragments to 1% after) malware scan came back negative, virus also negative. Deleted the last of the JPGs that were still there. and double checked the registry for the exe on startup, there was nothing.

I uninstalled the nvidia drivers rebooted and went to reinstall but normal windows locked up again.

I think since I can get in safe mode Ill back up and run a system restore from disk.
If that does not work I will just format.

BTW system specs...

Windows 7 x64 SP1
Intel core i5 gen1
EVGA P55 FTW Mobo
4gb Kingston hyperx ddr3
EVGA Nvidia Geforce GTX 260
ULTRA 700W PSU

System was built in fall of 2009 with no issues until now.
