I'm trying to scan my computer with Bitdefener but it keeps restarting halfway through even in safe mode. Is there another way to get rid of whatever's taking over the computer?
set it to NOT restart after a failure and then post the Exact error message that comes up. Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
Okay, where do I need to go to Not restart?
Right click My Computer/Properties and select Advanced tab.
Click the Settings button in the Startup and Recovery section.
Remove the checkmark from Automatically Restart in System Failure section. Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
Thanks.
I removed the last two out of the three checkmarks in the system failiure section because I was in safe mode. After that I tried the Bitdefender online scanner again but my computer keeps shutting off on me during the scan.
power down your PC and reboot in regular mode to get the blue screen and tell us the EXACT error.
Try malwarebytes and see if it completes a quick scan- Your Bitdefender may be corruptedSome HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
My PC didn't show me any blue screen or error exactly. It just abruptly shut off so I had to turn it back on manually. I'll try out malwarebytes to see if it works.
Looks like I got lucky with malwarebytes. I did a quick scan and it found 2 infections but I got rid of them. Should I follow up with a fullscan?
you can if you like, I would do it in safe mode to see if it picks up anything else Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
I tried the fullscan in safe mode. Unfortunately my PC shut off on me again. Either my PC hates me or that I have a really bad virus.
