Hi,

I am having a hard time removing this google redirect virus. I've run RKill, then AVG, Spybot, Adwcleaner, Malware Bytes.

Any suggestions? It's really starting to drive me crazy!

Thank you!!

What web browser are you using? Do you know what search engine is set as the default in the browser? Are you being redirected from your home page of Google or are you redirected from sight. Has your home page been changed? When did the problem start.

It started about a week ago. It happens both with Chrome and Mozilla. I tried uninstalling both web browser and reinstalling but that didn't help. I can't even use the internet at this point, it keeps switching to, what looks like, the google homepage no matter what I'm doing on the internet. I can be in the middle of typing and it will switch over to "google". I have to use another computer to type this. If I walk away from the computer there will be a bunch of "google" webpages popped up on my screen when I return...

We used to use CWshredder for browser hijacks/redirects. It hasn't been updated in years and if what you've already tried hasn't worked it probably won't either. But it would be interesting to see what happens. Here's a download if you want to try it:

Let me have look at everything you still have please, looking for clues.

Not needed at the moment.

Crissyr

Just a little tip if you happen to pop back. Try to recall how you managed to get the virus in the first place and take good care to avoid doing so in the future. One of the programs used was a limited time trial and cannot be used fully again in future. This type of program will not function fully even after re-install, so you would then have to use an alternative approach. It would be illegal if we suggested any method of circumventing a time trial.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
