Can't install driver for webcame AVG virus

I think some time ago i had problems with the software for my webcam but as i haven't used it in maybe a year and had too many other things to do i didn't get back to it. As i had to use it today as a security camera i went to go into the cam's software to let it monitor(take snap shots) while i was out but everything is greyed out when i right click the cam icon in the systray except EXIT. So i thought i would try and manually click the exe file which is AMCAP.exe. I got this error c:\windows\amcap.exe
windows cannot access the specificied device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. then there is an OK button. I also get a Resident Sheild alert from AVG my antivirus free version prog. It says that there is a threat detected which is ampcap.exe and the virus found is Win32/Fujacks Detected on open. Not sure what i do as nothing seems to bring results in that i want to use the webcam. Nothing has ever been detected in a scan and i have had this damn thing installed for over a year maybe 2 years. I have just installed the new version of AVG free maybe last week and notice the difference already. Crap how you can't close the damn program. Ah well i will make that comment on the avg site ...shoudl i do that also about amcap?

I can't shut down the latest free version of AVG. It doesn't let me close it.

Well looks like i will have to give up on this webcam as there seems to be no solution. I installed another usb webcam and that one seems to work well.

Actually the other webcam is taking me ages to get happening. I don't think it has good night vision which is what i bought the cam for as my balcony is dark and i used to use it to capture the bad neighbour that was doing suss things on my porch. Anyway he is gone now but we have a drug house upstairs and you never know! Good to have a set up just in case!

I figured out something with avg anyway(free version). I went into msconfig and unchecked it so it won't load into the systray on startup. I dunno if that stops it from seeing amcap.exe as a virus after i load it though. That could be a problem. Well i guess that is what happens when you buy some cheapie things that have no product support lol.

Yes i figured out a work around. Dorgem captures from any webcam and it is free as it is open source!!!! I have reinstalled the other camera and i don't need to use amcap.exe .

instead of going through the control panel and uninstalling avg free, download the latest version and let it install over it instead.

I have no idea what you mean. I use the camera because there are some bad neighbours. For security. One neighbour that is now gone was stealing from my garden, breaking things like my fence, deficating on my porch, trying to kill me and other neighbours. The list goes on. People have security cameras on their property. I am probably in a different country to you so maybe the laws are different. I am in Australia.
