Solved Cannot view some video's

April 7, 2014 at 12:03:59
Specs: Windows xp, 2 GB Ram
When I get onto some sites, a message will pop up saying that firefox has prevented the outdated plugin "Adobe flash" from running.
also on some recipe site, I can view a recipe video, and on other sites I again get the "Outdated Adobe flash" message.
Do I need to download Adobe flash?

You need Adobe Flash to run most online videos because they are produced with Flash. In some case you will need the latest Flash version.

If you have more than one browser, get the new Adobe Flash version from each browser.

Yes, always uncheck the unwanted goodies (as per second link in #1).

Go here and see if the version in the little box (yours) agrees with the recommended version:
https://www.adobe.com/software/flas...
That will also confirm you have Adobe Flash, which is almost a certainty.

While you are there you can download Adobe Flash from the link that says "Player Download Center" (just above the big table).

If you have more than one browser (IE, Firefox, Chrome, etc) then repeat this from each browser. From then on future Adobe Flash updates should be automatic.

EDIT: Improved wording.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Hi Derek:
Got Adobe Flash Player Version 13.0.0.182 on my desktop with firefox. I also have Windows Internet Explorer on the same computer, do I download Adobe Flash player on that Browser too?
Another question, In Add and Remove I just checked and it used to say Adobe Flash 10, Now it says Adobe flash Plugin 13 BUT, it does not have any numbers over on the right hand side, such as 5625 MB or something like that. Is that alright? or does it mean that it was not downloaded?
sorry to be such a pest. Nicki

Yes, definitely download it from each browser.

The way Adobe Flash is incorporated varies with each browser. In some cases it is just a small browser plug in and no details are given.

The way to be certain what you've got is to go to the link I gave in #5 "from each browser" and compare the small box that gives your version with the appropriate one in the large table. If you have the latest version then that particular browser needs no further attention.

If you mean Adobes website then you are OK if you uncheck any unwanted goodies when downloading anything. I'm afraid it's the way of the world with many downloads you get these days. You just have to keep your eyes peeled for any junk they try to foist on you.

EDIT:
Version 13.0.0.182 is the latest one for both Firefox and IE. Once you have that on both see if your videos are working.
