Can you get a virus from clicking on popup ad

October 5, 2010 at 05:59:25
Specs: Windows Vista Business, Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00Ghz / 2GB RAM
I accidentatly clicked one of those "congratulations you're IP address was chosen and you've won a free iphone" ads, that appear on mangafox, while I was reading. I was led to another tab where there was a pop-up and all and when i clicked the close button on one of them, another popped up then i did the same thing again and the tab closed. I did this rather quickly, roughly 10 seconds at most. I'm unsure if I've contracted a virus now or if it's possible to even contract one so quickly. Kinda worried here. Thanks.

You probably got hit with tons of spyware.
Most times when you click on something like that, it gets installed in your registry.
Use some of the free cleaners that I have listed on one page in my signature for easy access.
They are all free and fully working.

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
