BSOD Inaccessible Boot Device

Hewlett-packard Pavilion dv4000 notebook
July 28, 2010 at 07:46:35
Specs: Windows 7
I was cleaning out friend's computer and had reduced start-up times and cleaned out registry and ran MalwareBytes, Avira and AVG and Avira told me I had a RK/Rootkit Virus and when I moved to vault and restarted I got BSOD with ooooooo7B (Inacessbile Boot Device). Windows XP will not start. Not even in safe mode. I tried changing order of boot device but system will not boot from CD and there is not a floppy on the system. I changed stopped some services and changed boot time but it was working fine and speeding up with Chrome and Firefox when Avira found this RootKit malware and then it shut down, going to BSOD. There is no memory dump and it stops at ooooooooo7b without any other mentions. Also, this system was shutting down from after overheating and when I put a fan on it it stopped shutting down. I have the fan on it now but it still goes to BSOD and I cannot think of anything else except to low-level format (whatever that is) or flash BIOS (whatever that it). Any genius' out there who can help. HP Pavilion 504 mb, 128 MB Phoenix BIOS F.17 Windows XP. Can't boot from CD.
