menus in firefox - rt clicks don't help., and i re-downloaded
latest firefox 3.6 .(something ) and reinstalled it but BING and

'rt clicks don't help'
Are you saying that if you right click on a blank spot on the above toolbar that nothing happens?

I discovered the two(2) essential missing bits to my personal
knowledge-base were missing:

1) using CTRL-click in the menu area displays the menus in
fire fox (discovered from the firefox help forum)
which allowed control of the browser commands
and
2) using "options' in the browser allowed me to reset and
remove the bing search and then change my startup page

malware just deleted some adware stuff..

thanks for the efforts and leads. all is well with my world now!

best regards..

I had this force its way into my pc when I set up my att u-verse. Whitesmoke translator is nothing but a virus. Norton will not regognize it as a virus delete it from your program files, then safe mode some updates!!!!!!!!!
