Blue Star virus - how do I get rid of it?

Specs: Windows XP
I have a virus on every folder located on my Pc there are a message will appear in top of each tool bar for every windows in O.S. this message is *BLUE STAR*, I have tried every scanner know to man. Without rebuilding these systems how do I get rid of this thing?

yes this is a virus known as a typical root kit plz remove it
shortly unless it will damage to ur hard disk.
and if it have a backdoor then u can loose ur password(any) too.
i suggest u install the AVAST antivirus professional with full
update. and take a boot time scan from this.if u need any other
help then contact me

Thank you, I did load and run the virus scan. It did find the New.exe file and I deleted it. Unfortunately, Basically, when I open ANY folder on my computer at the top it says Blue Star with a couple of little Blue Stars. Can you tell me where windows saves the colors and icons for these folders? Maybe it's a logo that high jacked my windows folders..Thanks for your help..
