Blocked from sites by virus?

Specs: All.of.my.devices, All of my devices
I can't go to fanfiction.net and some other sites on all my devices, but when I run it through a proxy site it loads just fine. Did the parental control glitch out? Is it a virus?

www.fanfiction.net works fine for me without using a proxy server.

I would consult your ISP about it because if it was caused by a virus, using a proxy server wouldn't have made any difference.

Did you try using a different browser?
Did you try disabling add ons like Google and Yahoo Tool Bars?
Did you try cleaning out your browsers history? Sometimes browsers get finicky when the get bogged down with a lot of junk. Set browsers to save history and cookies to only a few days where possible.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

I can have the proxy block the computer from seeing what I'm doing... however it seemed to figure that out and block me even when I use a proxy. I tried turning my wifi off on my phone and found that I could go to fanfiction! I think there's a virus in the server or something...

If you access through a server then you need to see the system administrator. The network has software to block certain sites or classifications of sites either as a form of network protection or as a policy for productivity.

These three small freebies often find what anti-virus programs miss. Run them in the order given:

AdwCleaner:
https://toolslib.net/downloads/view...
(blue "Download Now" button on right).
Download and "Save" the file somewhere. Go to the saved file then double click it to run the program. Use the "Scan" button, followed by the "Clean" button.

Junkware Removal Tool (JRT)
https://www.malwarebytes.org/junkwa...
(blue Download button).
Download and "Save" the file somewhere. Go to the saved file then double click it to run JRT. It might appear to have stopped at times or flash the screen but sit tight until it has finished.

MalwareBytes:
https://www.malwarebytes.org/
(use the "download" button rather than the "buy" button).
Install and Run the program but before running the Scan go to "Settings > Detection and Protection" and put a checkmark in "Scan for rootkits". Quarantine anything it finds.

Please copy/paste all the logs on here.

To access the logs in Malwarebytes, open it, go to History at the top then Application Logs at the left. Put a check mark in the latest "Scan log" and Export it to a txt file.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
