If you don't know what the password is, and you haven't recorded it anywhere, you'll need to reset the router to factory defaults [i.e.: http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app... ] - then the default factory password is used (Check your manual for that password).

You should change the password from the default password to your own password as well and make a record of it.

Then, you should look for any hardware firmware updates for your router [ http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app... ]

Have you updated the router firmware (if available)? Yes, they can act flaky and die slowly. If you are trying to make adjustments & changes to the router, that should be done on a PC with a WIRED (NOT wireless) Ethernet connection to the router.

Make sure there is enough airflow in & around the router as well so it doesn't overheat.
