Another Virus Question..

Specs: Windows Vista
My computer knowledge is admittedly pretty slim but I've followed some of the other advice on here thanks to it being quite clear and direct.

For about the last week Norton had been having messages pop up at the bottom of my screen saying "A recent attempt has been blocked." This was happening, I would say, sometimes as frequently as once every 3-5 minutes. Well, I was away it turns out that someone else here allowed our Norton subscription to expire. The computer was attacked and things got messed up pretty quickly.

First it was that just about any link I clicked would redirect me to some other site. Also, when I type in certain addresses it will take me to something else, most frequently "". The Norton warnings were saying something about E-mail fraud or something along those lines and classified their risk as HIGH. I just ran Malwarebytes like recommended in another posting. It found 6 threats which I removed. Seems to have stopped the links from redirecting but certain sites still take me to the address previously posted and who knows what might be going on with my email unbeknownst to me.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

use the norton uninstaller from their website and remove Norton. Then you can use Avast Free and Malwarebytes to get rid of your problems.

I wouldn't pay for a norton subscription, Avast Free is much better

Some HELP in posting on plus free progs and instructions Cheers
