I have the latest version of Firefox, Webroot Secure Anywhere, and occasionally run Malwarebytes and have never seen and pop up ads. You should have looked at your add ons and disabled any you did not install or do not use, and clear out History, Cookies, etc to make sure you are clean. If that did not help, run Malwarebytes, remove all it finds, and you should be fine.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Install the "Adblock Plus" add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fi...

I tried your suggestion but this did not help
I think the problem is that Mozilla has added the advertising into firefox and it cannot
be removed

I will do as you have suggested
I think I have solved my issue by uninstalling firefox and rolling back to an earlier
version and there seems to be no ads so far

"and there seems to be no ads so far"

I don't know what went wrong but I'm using the latest Firefox version and have seen no advertising. I also use Adblock Plus (and have always done so).

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

If you are still in trouble after that given in #11 then download this file and "Save" it:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow...
(use blue Download button top right).

Double click the saved file and run the Scan. You can select what it removes but it is usually quite OK to then run the Clean and let it remove all it finds. You might be surprised to see the tosh it finds.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
