A Virus that just won't leave

February 26, 2010 at 17:46:04
Specs: Windows Vista
A few days ago I got a virus on my computer which automatically started up some sort of 'anti-virus' program. It refused to let me open task manager so I restarted and ended process before it could start up, found the source, and deleted. It happened again two days later after I opened firefox and browsed the internet, and I repeated process. Now teatimer(from spybot) is letting me know something is trying to change some of my files. I'm thinking I've never deleted the true source of this virus.
Info:
Virus file always ends in ftav.exe (with a few letters before such as qqmesftav.exe)
The 'anti-virus' program it opens has a little green shield with a white check mark as an icon in the quickbar.
The file I keep deleting is always located somewhere in appdata>Local with a random folder name.

Help?

I think may be you have got some trojans and they have downloaded and installed a fake antivirus on your system. Can you provide hijackthis log? Don't post your log here, just upload your log on rapidshare.com and post the download link.
