A new acer aspire e 15 was slipped a trojan virus.

Specs: Windows 8.1, AMD QUAD CORE E2 4GB
Regrettably, my Brand New Acer Aspire E 15 Lap Top contracted a TROJAN HORSE virus causing it to spew out hundreds of "SPAM" messages. The only answer I can see is a FACTORY RESTORE but have no knowledge how to effect this.

It's in your manual if you have it, usually on the CD that came with the comp.

Probably called recovery.

Thank you for trying to help, those were the first two things I attempted to do but to no avail. I cannot download the Manual and Computers (in Australia) don't come with any Discs. I believe the answer is 'ALT-F10' Thanks, Molly

Hi Molly, I'm here.

ALT-F10 probably only works if you have disks.

Can you double check your model number please, it may not be exactly correct.

John.

ACER ASPIRE E2 AMD QUAD CORE E2 E15 ES-521-27C3 IS THE MODEL NUMBER AND I HAVE HAD THE MACHINE FOR AROUND 1 MONTH ROUGHLY.

AS I SAID EARLIER, IN AUSTRALIA, IT IS THE EXCEPTION TO GET DISC'S AND YOU MUST DOWNLOAD THE MANUAL. THIS IS SUCH A CRYPTIC OPERATION AS TO BE (AT LEAST TO ME) IMPOSSIBLE TO GET PAST THE WHERE ONE DOWNLOADS THE EXTRACTION PROGRAM AND BEYOND THAT OFFERS NO OPTIONS TO ACCESS THE MANUAL DOWNLOAD. THANK YOU MOLLY.

If this way doesn't suit, I can start a malware cleaning process.
