win 2000 batch call exe

February 28, 2011 at 15:03:10
Specs: Windows XP
I'm trying to call an exe file from within test.bat on a win2K box but the Dos window won't close by itself.

The BAT file looks like this:

@echo off
pskill -t posw.exe
pskill -t trvlpo~1.exe
echo "Waiting for POSW.EXE process to end"
ping 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 4000
pskill -t posw.exe
echo "Waiting for POSW.EXE process to end"
ping 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 4000
cd \progra~1\poswin
posw.exe
exit

The duplication of 'pskill -t posw.exe' is because there are 2 separate services with the same name.

All suggestions welcome.

Thanks

the batch file wont close itself because it waits for posw.exe to terminate.
Batch file will procees next line only when previous line completes executation.

You should use "start posw.exe" .. this way after start insatence of posw.exe the batch will terninate..

Subhash Chandra.
