Specs: Windows 7
I am at the publish or deploy phase in visual Basic (Visual Studio 2010) I have added the new project through the set up wizard, in the solution menu there is an option where you can add an add / remove icon before you build and release. the project does deploy fine and all is well in the release folder. However when you apply the exe file and load the program the add remove icon pastes it'self to the desktop? How? Why? and how do I stop it

Thanks for getting back to me Razor2.3 At the beginning I thought it was the problem you mentioned but it wasn't. In the deployment project you have got an option in the properties window to choose an icon for the add / remove in the control pannel once the program has been installed. what I have found is that if you click on the icon file that you have chosen in the solution explorer the properties window gives you options where to store the icon when the application has been installed. Strangely the target default is the desktop location? However, one of the options is the application folder it'self and if you check this box thats where it ends up during installation. Problem Solved!
