Specs: Windows XP
i have a solution for hidden files not showing i.e "Go to registry editor by running regedit in the run box.
Go to this key:

In the right hand area, double click hidden and change the value to 1.
Now you’re all set to go. Check it in your tools menu if the changes have taken effect"

Now I want to make a .reg file to make this change but the change should not affect the other DWORD settings in the advanced folder......pls give the solution.....

You want a program to do it for you automatically? If so then you need to write script to do it. The question is what language do you want to use?

The simplest solution is to export the key and import it on the computer you want to make the change on.

You should be able to do that with the reg add command. Try:

reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced" /v Hidden /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

Or alternately if you want to stick with the .reg file just edit it down to:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
