The user must acknowlege the task eg type yes

Specs: Windows XP
Prior to starting a backup process the user must acknowledge the tasks (eg type yes to continue. The output on the dos command screen should write to a log file.
The dos command screen should stay open until it is aknowledge (e.g type close)

Well I think you should type a simple batch like this:

@echo off
:yn
cls
echo Would you like to continue?
set /p yn= yes / no
if %yn% == yes goto yes
if %yn% == no exit

:yes
cls
START /w "<file>"
exit

<file> should be replaced with the file that will do the changes. I don't remember exactly how the /w tag works but It'll wait til the program is open.
