Solved system32 is in path but xcopy not recognised

Specs: Windows 7 Pro, 4GB
Environment variables has a path to \system32\xcopy but Windows 7 Pro does not recognize xcopy as a command

Setting path to C:\Windows\System32 would work but replacing c:\Windows with the environmental variable %systemroot% as detailed in the post by Derek would work better. Putting the file name of the file you are interested in in the path command is never going to work.

The %systemroot% variable takes into account the fact that the system might not be C:\Windows. It could be d:\What ever you want to call it.
